Maintenance
MAKE YOUR TRANSMISSION LAST
A well-maintained vehicle is a big concern for today’s consumer. It is very important to many consumers to be able to keep a vehicle on the road as long as possible rather than incurring the expense of a new car. Good driving habits and regular maintenance can help extend a transmission’s life for thousands of extra mile.
TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE
We recommend a transmission service if the transmission fluid is burnt due to extreme use such as heavy towing or really “pushing it” over the mountain passes. Transmission fluid should be pink in color. Black fluid color is not a good sign. This may push certain metals to clog other parts of your transmission.
Basic Maintenance
Every 20-30 thousand miles We recommend that the transmission in your vehicle be service at least every 20-30 thousand miles. More frequently if you are carrying a heavy load or towing. (We recommend that if your vehicle has a filter, a new one should be installed during a service. A clogged filter can cause the transmission to slip or cause transmission failure). Includes: test drive of your vehicle to test shift quality, new pan gasket, transmission fluid, new filter (replaced, not just cleaned), adjust bands or linkage if applicable, check mounts, visual inspection of U-joints and axles.
Premium Maintenance
Recommended for premium protection maintenance, and for heavy use, such as heavy loads, towing or commercial use. Every 12,000 miles . Clean lubricating fluid is always a plus for your vehicle’s transmission. Includes test drive of your vehicle to test shift quality, new pan gasket, transmissio fluid, new filter (replaced, not just cleaned), adjust bands or linkage if applicable, check mounts, visual inspection of U-joints and axles.
TRANSFER CASE SERVICE/4 WHEEL DRIVE
Includes draining the fluid from the transfer case and refill with new fluid. This service should be done approximately every 50-60 thousand miles. If you do a lot of 4-wheeling, you should increase the service intervals.
DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE
We recommend this service for your vehicle every 90,000 miles. The drain plug is pulled, fluid is drained and new fluid is put in. If there is no draining capability, the differential cover is removed, the fluid is drained and replaced, and the cover is replaced.
